Review: Goldfaden MD
Doctor developed skincare with a difference
I've been using Goldfaden MD for some weeks now and just love it. One of the many doctor developed lines on the market today, what I love most about the range is that it really feels more natural in texture and aroma (than many other doctor brands) and my skin mops up every last residue. This 'natural' element has become more important to me as I grow older as while ideally I would only use natural products on my skin I believe that at this stage in my life some actives are needed to maintain healthy-looking supple skin during my middle years. While not natural per say, the Goldfaden MD range is overflowing with active plant cells and anti-oxidant rich botanicals (think Japonica Plant Extract, Pink Grapefruit Oil, Raspberry Leaf extract, Bird of Paradise extract and much more and ticks many ethical boxes too.
The problem-solving remedies target a range of specific skin concerns inspired by treatments developed in Dr. Gary Goldfaden’s South Florida dermatology clinic. Goldfaden MD is available from a number of outlets including Space NK and the online via Panache Cosmetics in the UK.
The range is quite extensive but my firm favourites include:
UltraLight Oil Free SPF 30 Mist: We know we need to apply broad spectrum sun protection every day, without fail. Those still not convinced should read my earlier post on the subject here. With this in mind, Dr. Goldfaden’s fast absorbing, oil-free SPF 30 sunscreen protects skin from UVA/UVB rays. The ultra fine mist can be applied over make up and is so light and easy to apply leaving absolutely NO excuse not to protect your skin against our toxic environment.
The Plant Profusion Supreme Serum is overflowing with active plant stem cells and anti- inflammatory ingredients to help repair skin. Its thick gel-like consistency glides over my skin and feels like a comfy coat, especially during cooler harsher months when my skin needs that extra protection. With extracts from Japonica Flowers, Swiss Cress Sprouts, Grape Extracts, these active ingredients promote collagen production while also protecting the skin and ion, resulting in a luminescent, plump
Energetic Eye Cream: Im a real sceptic when it comes to eye creams as I have tried too many that just don't work! But this thick cream really seems to nourish the area around my eyes especially when applied in the evening. it oozes active ingredients and may just help repair, hydrate and nourish this delicate area.
Fresh A Peel: This supercharged Lactic and Multi-Fruit Enzyme exfoliating peel is the perfect pre-party skin brightener (honestly - just try it!). While my skin can be a little sensitive to harsh ingredients Fresh A Peel doesn't irritate and leaves my skin feeling super fresh and dewy. i'd love to use it daily but know that would be too much, so I'm compromising and slather it on my face (avoiding my eyes) twice a week and am really seeing the results.
Needle-Less: Regular readers will know that Hyaluronic Acid (or HA) is top of my list of skin nourishing actives (read my earlier post here) so while I haven't yet tried the good doctor's line smoothing concentrate, it is believed to offer an alternative to injections (think Botox and fillers) as it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and creases (obviously the results are not as immediate as with needles). Comprising 100% pure Hyaluronic Acid and hexapeptides (essential proteins) Needle-Less helps hydrate, tighten and smooth the skin. This I am looking forward to trying!
